DMs, do you ever cancel the game just because you don't feel like playing?

We're talking last minute cancelation.

I have some neurodivergent players and it has happened that they dropped out last minute, because they felt overwhelmed - and that's okay with me, I don't mind that, I understand. I have 6 players, so if 1-2 players cancel last minute, we can still proceed with the game.

The thing is, that sometimes I get kinda overstimulated as well and I just don't want to DM. I enjoy it, but you know, sometime I'd rather stay at home and watch a movie.

I would never cancel on my players last minute, because I feel like it is very different when they cancel or when I cancel.

If they cancel, we still meet up, still play, no need to reschedule - but yk, you don't get that luxury, as a DM.

I guess this is a half-vent and half-give-me-advice kind of post?

What do you do when you get overwhelmed and don't feel like playing?

UPDATE: First of all, I wanted to thank you all who took the time and offered me their advice. I decided that there won't be any dnd next week.

And to clear some things up - I LOVE being a DM I LOVE my players, it's just that I've been dealing with a lot recently and I guess I sort of need some time to be alone and to process stuff.

DnD was never the issue, it's just that there's some stuff going on with my family.

I should've taken a week off sooner, but my players are always so eager to play so I guess I just didn't want to disappoint them.

They were very understanding, tho.

So thank you all, who nudged me in the right direction. I guess I just needed to gather up some courage. :)
