Ext #29- patient says she’s still numb

Hello,

I work for a corporate chain- extracted #29 on 12/19/24. I have been off/ am off until next Monday, but I peeked at my schedule today, and I saw that patient in the schedule with the description “patient says she’s still numb”. I had the front staff call her today to see if she still is- I’m upset that they didn’t call me whenever she called and they put her in the schedule.

The tooth was extracted for ortho- no infection present. It was a simple extraction, and I used 1 Carp lidocaine 2% w/ 1:100,000 epi via IAN and lingual nerves. I also did mental nerve infiltration with 0.5 carp of the same thing.

I’m nervous, this has never happened before? The injection was pretty standard/ no incidence. Should I call in a medrol dosepak? What should I do when she comes in on Monday?
