Owner charging associate for crown?

I had a crown done in dental school (years ago) that came off randomly the other day and the mesial margin always had a lip (the crown was never perfect, dental school). I had my boss take a look and he smoothed it off and we sent it off for a gold crown. I obviously will pay the lab bill but now my boss charged me an extra 410$ for the 2 mins of work on an associate who produces 100k a month for him with nothing but happy patients. It’s supposed to be a 70% discount from the 1500 crown /buildup cash price (no buildup was even done, it’s in the bill though). Am I crazy or ? Half the crown I do like Cigna etc crowns pay half that, then I get 32%…
