Wwyd? Ext or endo?
New associate of 3 months here. Had a F23 come in with radiating pain in LR jaw that woke her in her sleep. Obvious abscess buccal #31 and on PA:
Tooth had a grade 1-2 mobility. She was missing #30 already and I did a pulpotomy to relive pain and prescribed antibiotics, but let her know it may still need to be extracted (my thought process was that I wanted to get her out of pain, potentially save tooth if realistically feasible since she’s young and missing #30 already, and buy some time to speak to practice owner who is away). If I made the wrong call and this is an obvious ext I can accept that and change my dx in future, but wanted to ask others with more experience what you would’ve done here.
