Constipation and colon cancer

Scared to death colonoscopy friday mom and uncle had colon cancer. Has anyone experienced chronic constipation and had colonoscopy that didn't turn out to be colon cancer? I've had chronic constipation and hemmroids for about two years. Thanks for and advice.
