Tern GSD or R&M Multitinker?

Hello all!

I own a Decathlon R500E longtail bike and my wife and I are looking to buy a new electric longtail bike for her, as the Decathlon one is too long and heavy for her. We have a 3,5 yo and she's currently pregnant with our 2nd kid so we're looking into a short and light longtail (as much as possible), able to carry two kids to kindergarden. We live in Belgium. We have shortened our research to the Tern GSD (probably the S00) and the Riese and Muller Multitinker (probably vario). We found them at a similar price, around 7.100 euros, with most accessoires included (the box for the kids, raincover/storm shield etc).

  1. Do you have any recommendations between the two or anything relevant we should consider about them? I figured that the Multitinker is a newer bike, has the Bosch Smart System which seems to offer some nice features, for example regarding bike security. At the same time, the GSD is shorter and lighter.

  2. I was also wondering about the drivetrain. Do you have any recommendations between the Enviolo, Nexus 5 and a derailleur system for this sort of longtail bike? I only have experience with a derailleur system and I understand that the Enviolo one loses some of the energy that is put into it. ( I know that these two bikes don't offer all these drivetrains but it would help the decision).

Thanks a lot!
