Esperance or Kangaroo Island in July

Hello, I’m planning a trip to Australia for a first-time visit. It is impossible to fit everything in 3 weeks so I must choose. Between Esperance and Kangaroo Island in the month of July, which would be better in terms of weather and higher likelihood of seeing kangaroos? I have figured out the rest with minimal stops in cities because we looking for mostly outdoors/adventure type of trip: Sydney 2 days, Uluru 2 days, Port Douglas 3 days, Broome/Kimberley 3 days, (Esperance or Kangaroo Island 3 days), Melbourne 1 day. I have found flights to make it all work. Just need to decide between Esperance or KI in July. Thoughts appreciated.
