Should I make the first move on a man?

I have a thing for a gym friend and I know he is interested in me (a mutual friend told me), but he has not made the first move. We make conversation and I have tried subtle fiscal contact and hints, but he has not made any moves. I want to make the first move, but I dont know if it will put him off. He recently did something very nice for me and my plan is: to thank him and tell him I have a surprise for him, make him close his eyes and then kiss him. I don’t know if it’s too childish (me f25 him m27), or if he will be put off if I make such a straight forward move. If you were him would you like it? Should I make the first move or will he think im “easy” if I do?
