How to get rid of damp smell in clothes?

Would appreciate some advice please! I picked up a package from vinted yesterday, it was a jumper that's really good quality and condition, no bobbling etc, but it felt a little cold and damp and smelled quite strongly.

It smelled like they had washed it and immediately put it in the plastic and sent it without drying it properly. Either that or the postal stop stored it in damp conditions. It smells like laundry, but also like it was still wet and wasn't given room to dry so began to smell just damp and unpleasant.

I chucked it in the wash, and when I took it out I still smelled that lingering damp bad smell especially along the seams, and it's surprisingly strong.

Anyone know how to get rid of it?
