300 Mode for Non-Athlete with Low HR

I’m far from athletic but my ambient daytime HR rarely gets above 50. Having a look around today I figured I’m going to try 2 new things:

  1. Increasing Apple Watch measurement time to 5 mins, after all these years. I assume there’s no reason not to? Concerned it would mess up my historical trends but more data the better?

  2. However, I noticed the Help says if resting HR is below 50 to turn on 300-RR mode, and don’t use the watch if <50, but I always thought that was for athletic people only? Again I don’t want to interfere or mess things up but I’m going to try it.

Any caveats?

Source: “measure your HRV for at least 5 minutes (turn the Digital Crown on your watch to set the length). If your resting heart rate is below 50 beats per minute, we recommend using the smartphone camera instead of the watch to get the frequency analysis (don’t forget to turn on the 300-RR interval duration mode in Menu → Settings).”
