[SOTC] My 4 Watch Collection
I started collecting in October 2024 so it's early days but I am hooked. I've got a watch box for 6 and I plan to keep a tight, eclectic collection.
Casio Vintage A1000MA-7 Nostalgia aside, the legibility of this watch and how easy it is to match with any outfit has me reaching for this one for any occasion. I don't use the stopwatch, timer, or alarm on it so it's clearly form over function for me. I switched out the stainless steel to the NATO and I have no regrets.
G-Shock Steel GM-2100C This was a gift from my mom. I love the color of the hands and the brown strap it came with. It's comfortable to wear and the steel finish is excellent. I've been wearing this to the gym and sports with genuinely no concern. It's my beater watch.
Seiko Prospex Forest Green SRPL29K1 This was my brother's gift to me for my birthday last October and started my watch affixation. I got lucky because inadvertently and without much research, I ended up choosing a high-quality automatic diver from a renowned brand. The stainless steel strap is fantastic and the watch has real weight to it so it feels premium. I am obsessed with the green dial on this, it's phenomenal in natural light. I usually reserve this for work.
Longines Master Collection Moonphase L2.919.4.78.3 This was an engagement gift from my future in-laws (they asked what I wanted and I chose this). A phenomenal dial with amazing in-house movement and a great alligator leather strap. I find myself looking at the time a lot more when wearing this. It's the first luxury watch of my collection so I do take great care of it but watches are meant to be worn so I am not uber-cautious. The accuracy for an automatic is quite amazing. It's hard not to wear this one daily.
The next watch is something that will be my own first large purchase and I want to add a bit of color so send any suggestions over.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and cheers to a healthy 2025!
