Flight attendants being sticklers about having window shade closed during daytime flight

Flew from LIS to IAD today and during the regular announcements they really wanted you to know you shouldn’t go to the lav outside of your cabin and that your window shade should be closed so people can rest during the flight. If this was an overnight/evening flight I would definitely understand that, but this flight left LIS around 1pm and got to IAD by 4pm. To combat jet lag I always try to stay awake during this flight and was planning to work so I had my shade open, but a flight attendant came up to me and told me to put it down and if I needed light to use the overhead light. I didn’t have a seat mate and the row in the middle was completely empty too.

Maybe I’m being sensitive but since when is it crazy to want to have your window shade open when you have a window seat during a daytime international flight?
