Time Limit for Uber Reserve Airport Pickup
I'm considering using Uber Reserve to get a ride from the airport for an upcoming trip. It will be a ~90 minute ride to my destination. I'm eager to reserve in advance because I've never taken an Uber that far before.
Uber states that they monitor flight arrival times, and give the passenger 45 minutes to meet the driver upon landing (for a regular "economy" Uber).
Isn't this an incredibly tight timeline? I don't see how anyone could make it to the Uber pickup within 45 minutes of landing if they check a bag. It usually takes 15-20 minutes just to physically exit the plane, before you even factor in walking to the baggage claim, going to the bathroom, waiting for bags to come out, wheeling your bag to the Uber pickup location, and finding your driver.
I totally understand that the driver wouldn't want to wait more than 45 minutes -- but why start that clock the moment the plane touches down?! The driver doesn't need to be there yet when the plane first lands, because literally no one would be ready to go yet then (since they're still on the plane).
Am I missing something? Will the driver really just leave 45 minutes after the plane lands? I'm thinking maybe I should cancel the Uber Reserve and just get an Uber when I'm ready. But I'm just worried that I somehow won't be able to get a ride and will be stranded 90 mins away from my destination.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
