NS 201 Online Question

Hello I am taking NS 201 online/asynchronous in the summer semester with Jeanine LeBlanc.

The syllabus says that the course notes are optional. If anyone has taken this course, did you find it useful or necessary to read the course notes or are they completely extraneous?
