Vinyl won’t play unless acrylic slipmat is off?

hoping someone can help, i have a lenco ls-100 with an acrylic slip mat on to help support the record. for some reason, every other vinyl will work on this except the Minecraft soundtrack of all things!!! without the slipmat, it’s fine, but with it on, it just begins to slow down and then stop completely. i’m so confused, any tips appreciated
