Advice on Staying Safe During a Week Trip to Cancun & Tulum (Ravers Traveling in a Group of 15)
My friends and I (a group of about 15) are planning a week-long trip to Mexico, splitting our time between Cancun and Tulum. We’re all pretty excited but also want to make sure we stay safe and informed. Here’s our itinerary: First 4 days: Staying at a resort in Cancun to relax and enjoy the area. Next 4 days: Heading to Tulum for three rave events that we’re super hyped about. Since Tulum is known for its party scene and Cancun is bustling with tourists, we’d love your advice on how to stay safe and make the most of our trip. Specifically: Are there areas in Tulum or Cancun we should avoid, especially late at night? What’s the best way to handle transportation between the resort, Tulum venues, and other places? Any tips for staying safe at the parties? (e.g., personal belongings, interactions with strangers, kandy, etc) Are there any common scams or issues to be mindful of? Best practices for staying together and organized, especially when navigating busy venues or streets? What’s the safest way to handle money? (Cash vs. cards, ATMs, etc.) Any recommendations for keeping our belongings secure (e.g., lockers, travel safes)? Any recommendations for keeping the group safe (locals, cartel people, crazy people) We’re really looking forward to this trip but want to be mindful and prepared so we can focus on having a great time. Would love to hear any advice, do’s/don’ts, or personal experiences you’ve had in Cancun and Tulum. Thanks in advance! 🙏
