Solo Traveler (30F) Looking for Tulum Friends and Recs for NYE 2024-2025
Hello! I’m a solo traveler (30F) headed to Tulum from Portland, Oregon for NYE. I’m staying at a hostel in Centro Friday 12/27-Monday 12/30 then another hostel at the beach Monday 12/30-Thursday 1/2.
I’m looking for friends to adventure with (DM me if you'll be there during these dates!) and advice on the following:
1. What's the best way to arrange for transportation to and from Zamna for NYE? I'm going to see Artbat at Zamna on NYE, and I've read that the best way to get there and back is to book a shuttle bus instead of taking a taxi - does anyone have tips on how to do that (safely)? I’m also looking for other solo women or mixed groups to go with if anyone is down!
2. Take me to the jungle? What are some good resources for finding local jungle parties and raves in Tulum? Please help me make my dreams come true.
3. Tours vs. hostel day trips? Chichen Itza and the cenotes are at the top of my to-do list. Does anyone have a tour company to recommend? The hostels I'm staying at also help arrange day trips for guests – is that something I can rely on without making plans in advance (especially for Chichen Itza)?
4. Where should I go for authentic spiritual/wellness experiences? I’m looking for a good place to experience temazcal, cacao, tantra, etc. ceremonies or workshops. Holistika looks super cool – has anyone been? Do you know of any other good spots for these types of experiences?
5. Does anyone know of any good promoters? I’ve heard they can help with transportation and finding events, but I’m not sure how to tell whether they are legit. Any recommendations would be helpful.
