Western US Road Trip (Zion, Grand Canyon) Itinerary Thoughts and Advice

Hello!

My buddy and I are planning out the following road trip in early spring to see some parts of the western US. Our rough itinerary is:

DAY 1: FLY TO PHOENIX
DAY 2: PHOENIX
DAY 3: PHOENIX -> SEDONA (119mi) -> GRAND CANYON (115mi)

DAY 4: GRAND CANYON (DAY) -> ZION (244mi)

DAY 5: ZION

DAY 6: ZION -> ALBUQUERQUE (510mi)

DAY 7: ALBUQUERQUE -> DALLAS (650mi)

TOTAL TRAVEL: 1639mi or 25h34min

We're starting the outing in Phoenix to see another buddy of mine, but the only real caveat when we made the outline is to finish Dallas. Neither of us have seen the Grand Canyon or Zion and are set on seeing/doing both. We enjoy hiking and outdoors activities but neither of us camp or ski.

My gut feeling is the current itinerary is too ambitious with the amount of driving combined with outdoors activities. I've soloed a road trip from Dallas to New England over the course of a week and it was exhausting, and this is appprox. the same mileage. Any thoughts, advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
