New Player - What’s my purpose?

New player, level 19. I’m just wondering before I get too far into this, what will end up being my main purpose in this game, especially if I don’t really care about any PvP. Is there a point when quest are less go to point A then B Then C, and offer a bit more? I plan to always be F2P. Do I quit now and try my hand at FF14 trial, seems to have more focus and more to do even in the free mode (UI and combat kill me though). Just thoughts. Cheers
