Mod only showing up for one gender

Hi, I'm sort of new to mods and adding mods to TS4, however I downloaded an arm warmer mod for my sims and when it was being advertised, the creator had them on female sims and upon downloading it I realized the only time the arm warmers are accessable are when the sims are male. I was wondering if there's a way to fix this? Maybe I downloaded the mod wrong, or will I just not be able to use this item for female sims at all 😭 (Also yes, I tried to take the 'feminine' fashion choice option off and every time, the item just isn't visible or accessible, it's exclusively for male sims for some reason)
