How long did it take you to "get" moguls, ungroomed, trees on tele?
Sorry for all the posts! (I'm getting deep into it and have a ton of questions haha)
So I've been about 35 days on tele now total over this and last season; I now feel comfortable carving at speed, riding switch, and weighting the back foot in most groomed areas and some light chop/powder. I'm working up now to doing tele turns through powdery bumps/moguls, trees, and ungroomed pistes.
I have an image of the basic mechanics involved in tele-ing around a powdery mogul, but when it comes to actually executing this maneuver it's still massively hit-or-miss. I often lose my balance and end up having my back foot slip forward, slipping out of the tele stance, even if I am trying to weight it. How do you keep your balance in doing these super short-radius turns on steeps, with such an unstable platform?
I especially have trouble initiating a quick and drastic lead-change in a very short-radius turn. I try to weight my back foot as much as possible but I don't know if my angles are wrong but I end up slipping so often. Are there any things I need to keep my focus on? Thanks!!
