Some questions about Taiwan living

I’ll be having my internship until January 2025 in Taiwan and I have a few questions!

For additional information:

• I will be residing in a dormitory in Nangang, Taipei.
• I will have a salary below but close to minimum wage for my internship.

1. I want to lose weight and as Taiwan is very bike friendly, is it better to buy a bike and sell it before I go, or can I stick to the Youbikes?

2. Where are some beginner-friendly hike locations?

3. In my home country, I often go to events in the underground scene. What are some locations/organizations/collectives I should keep an eye out for when it comes to indie/hardcore music?

4. Where can I get an e-sim that I can use for my stay? What company is good?

5. Cheap food locations that are in or around Nangang? I am no stranger to commuting and most definitely familiar to cheap eats so I am not picky.

6. Cinema locations? Big fan of Taiwanese cinema (i.e. Hou Hsiao-hsien and Edward Yang). Where can I watch cinemas that showcase local/arthouse movies with subtitles (lol).
