Raw tuna tastes salty/metallic?
I bought some frozen yellowfin tuna steaks from Safeway the other day and let them defrost in the fridge overnight. Texture and color seemed fine, smell was a little ocean-y but not fishy. However, the taste of it was salty and metallic unlike other raw tuna I’ve had. It wasn’t those things in an extreme sense but it was pretty noticeable. Is this a sign that it’s not safe for consumption? I was planning on making poke with it.
