A book you hesitate to recommend even though you love it

What is a book you love but don’t often recommend to your friends? Can be for any reason- niche subject, author is an ass in real life, critically panned, the reason you loved it is too personal, etc.

My examples- Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller because I feel weird telling my friends to read books with explicit sex scenes, and The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin because it’s for kids and I don’t think my friends would appreciate it the way I do because they didn’t read it as a kid first
