Advice for an SVX mt/engine swap

So I drive a ‘94 Subaru SVX, and just like most of them the transmission in mine grenaded itself🥲 I love the car and don’t know that I can bring myself to get rid of it, I’m thinking maybe just swap it from automatic to manual? And possibly an engine swap while I’m at it… curious to hear people’s opinions or if anyone has swapped them before and knows how much of a pain it’ll be lol.
