Arctis 9X - HELP!

Hi there. First time posting in this sub, just looking for a bit of help!

I have the Arctis 9X headset which I use with my Xbox Series X and there are no issues.

I was gifted a PS5 for Christmas. I am aware that the headswt is designed for Xbox however have seen that it can be used with PS5 when wired.

I have connected the headset to the PS5 controller using a 3.5mm 4 pole cable. The audio works fine however the microphone does not work.

I have contacted Steel Series customer service who seem confident that it will work however told me to "please make sure the controller and the console are both on the latest firmware version,

Then proceed to the settings and make sure the controller has the privacy permissions to use the mic when wired."

I can't find these settings ANYWHERE in the PS5 menus.

Any help would be appreciated as I am trying to avoid buying a new headset.
