What kind of Smoker?

What kind of Smoker do y'all use? I have been noticing people getting great results on bark/brisket/ribs/butts that I cannot seem to get.

A. I do my work with a chargrill offset smoker, which works fine for short smokes (4-5 hours) but is a chore monitoring the fire for anything beyond that. B. Because of this, I was hoping to move into the field of pellet smokers that produce consistent temperatures over long periods of time. But I have a few reservations:

  1. Will a pellet smoker put on a heavy enough smoke to get a ring and bark like I see everyone here doing?
  2. What unit/brand do you use or recommend?
