just started - IBKR commission fees, how much and when to buy
Hi im 19yo, just started researching ways to invest my idle cash sitting in the bank which is not earning much interest (about 5k~). Have decided to jump into IBKR and start off by playing around in small amounts ($1k) and saw that many recommended dcaing VWRA monthly. Have a few questions regarding IBKR which I hope some nice souls can answer! 🙏
- Just bought my first VWRA stock (Tiered pricing) and saw that the commission fees were 2.08 for 1 stock, is this considered low?
- Also wanted to ask if it is more advisable to buy more quarterly, or less monthly (like setting 1 stock as recurring monthly) as I am unfamiliar with commission fees
- SGD --> Stock work flow, right now I'm converting SGD to USD, then buying stocks, is that inefficient or are there better ways to do this? (as there is a currency conversion fee)
- Havent seen many talking about buying TSLA on IBKR, is it inefficient to do so? (like e.g. commission fee too high)
- Anything else I should look into besides VWRA on IBKR? I am also planning to research on and try out Endowus portfolios and Amundi funds
