Guy turned down for being 5'10"

Today, a friend told me about a guy she had been texting. She ended up turning him down because he said he was 5'10", and she told him her ideal partner has to be at least 6' tall. I get that everyone is allowed to have their preferences, but it feels strange to me that height matters so much to her.

Maybe it’s because she’s tall herself (5'7"), but it made me a lot more insecure than before. I’m way shorter than 5'10", and I'm afraid I'll never even have a chance with girls my age. It seems like so many of them say they want someone tall, even the ones who seem progressive in other ways. I hope this changes when we get older
