Thank you to whoever recommended bee pollen for allergies

My shiba was in absolute hell suffering with his allergies; constant scratching at the face, biting his paws to the point of raw. I tried everything from switching his diet, to getting him a slew of diff probiotics.

We eventually got him on Apoquel, which worked, but I knew apoquel and cytopoint would not be good longterm solutions. The shots' effects lasted for barely over a month, I had heard cases of bad side effects, and it didn't help that they weren't inexpensive.

I was on my last straw and ready to pay for the allergy test, when I saw someone on this sub suggesting bee pollen. Specifically local.

That weekend I headed to my local farmers market and picked some up, and followed the persons recommendation of slowly building up to 1 tsp a day. By the next week his allergies were totally GONE.

I wanted to see how long it'd work for, so after it ran out I waited for his allergies to return. They never came back. It's been almost a year now.

I've just bought bee pollen in bulk today and will continue to feed it to him occasionally for precautionary measure, but his allergies are totally cured.

Thank you to this sub for saving my Shiba, and I hope someone else dealing with this terrible problem comes across this and gives local bee pollen a try too.
