What to Do When the Workplace Is Too Sexist

I (29F) work in an IT company where the gender ratio is balanced. Women are not in the minority. Yet, I often encounter an environment filled with sexist jokes and remarks. These comments are not funny to most people, yet they persist, creating a constant and uncomfortable atmosphere. I always speak up and point out that this behavior is inappropriate, but nothing has changed. The majority of those making these comments are men over 50, and they seem completely indifferent to how their words affect others. It’s exhausting and disheartening to deal with this in a professional setting.

Does anyone else experience this? How do you handle such situations?

I’ve decided to look for a new job because there are other aspects of this workplace that I’m unhappy with. However, I’m concerned that I might encounter the same issue elsewhere. How can I ensure that I find a workplace with a truly respectful and inclusive culture?
