Scam or legit?

Hi y’all,

Recently accepted a new job in a new state & visited to look at homes to rent. The person who showed me around said that rent + application fee is collected via Zelle. Is this legit? I’ve always leased through companies before, only looking at homes this time since it’s a new city & easier to make friends if you’ve got roommates.
