An observation/wish for downtown

I am disabled and a wheelchair user and while I don't go downtown all the time, that's where I usually meet my friends and most of my friends spend a lot of time downtown…I know we live in a historic city and a lot of my favorite bars and such are in older buildings so there’s only so much that can be done regarding accesibility but I would really appreciate some good sturdy removable ramps…I realize most of the interiors are going to be tight and I'm fine with that but entering and exiting should not be as difficult as it is…for example I love the rail but their entrances (both of them) are sorta iffy…I know I can enjoy the patio but I'd love to actually be able to go in without risking damage to my chair…there are other examples but that's the most prominent one for me…I wish more business owners took advantage of ramps inside and outside of their businesses and when they have an elevator, keep it in proper working condition (looking at you Totally Awesome Bar)…like I said I realize these things cost money and there are rules and regulations that have to be followed…I just feel like downtown as a whole could do better with accesssibility
