First winter with a Spa Berry Hot Tub

We got our Spa Berry in the spring so first winter with it. With the crazy cold temps we have had in Sask (-40 with the wind). Is it normal to have some ice down the outside of the tub? And some ice on the flaps of the cover on the inside? Thanks in advance
