What are the most underrated non-stubbed stories on Royal Road?
Stories come and go quickly on Royal Road. Many never get much initial traction even though they are quality stories. Here are my favorite non-stubbed stories that more people should read. Please share your favorites in the comments.
I place this first because if this story has new chapters, it's the first one I read. It's written by a reliable husband-wife author team, MTalon, that completes stories. I'm reading two of their other series right now. This story has two full books complete and is currently on the third book, so plenty of material for binge readers. Read the comments on this one. Lots of smart people talking storycrafting. What are you waiting for?
2) Shut Up and Heal Me (My Ex-Girlfriend's the Tank?!) [LitRPG]
This is the second series by MTalon that I'm reading. It's just starting so it's easy to get in on the ground floor with this one. It's a fun story about gamers leveling for real-life stakes and I'm getting a kick out of it. The characters are unique and the blend of personalities makes the plotline unpredictable. Give it a try!
3) Knives & Levels: Survival LITRPG Apocalypse
I would put author Zach Skye's other story (Knights Apocalyptica) on this list, but it recently stubbed. Instead, I can suggest his newest fiction. It's dark, it's gritty and the characters are unique and interesting. This one grabbed hold of me and isn't letting go. See for yourself!
This story has zombies. While I'm not a huge zombie story fan, I started reading because of the author, Kevin Mclaughlin's reputation with tons of books already published. And I was happy I did. This post-apoc story has an interesting magic system, real danger and real stakes. It hooked me and I think it will hook you too. Start reading now!
Who am I? I'm an up-and-coming author currently writing my first (unreleased) LitRPG fiction. I hope to release my first story on Royal Road some time in 2025.
My motivation for this post is to share quality fictions by other authors that need more exposure, and to find new stories for my ever-growing follow list. Please share your most underrated non-stubbed stories!
