Do the tracking numbers with the dashes in them actually track? Non standard ref for tracked 48.

I have posted two items today. I had prepaid large letter and had two codes ending in GB. However got to the post office and it is actually a parcel size. No worries, cancelled the old ones and paid for tracked 48 on both of them. The references I have on the receipt are not the usual references ending in GB, but appear like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.

My understanding is that these tracking numbers are not actually tracking but references for 1st, 2nd class etc and don't actually show delivery.

This is an issue as ebay won't pay me until they confirm delivery... That's why I got tracked 48. It says 48 on my receipt too. Can't track either of these online. (tho I have just this second dropped them off.)

Will these reference numbers actually go live, or is there away I can use them to get the tracking number ending in GB?
