GR III: does your display screen reflect settings accurately?

I'm starting to get better shots, but there's an extra bend in the learning curve because the display screen shows the exposure much brighter than the actual picture whenever I view it on a laptop or phone (tested on multiple devices). This means that the exposure must be further adjusted in post or I have to remember to overexpose more than the display screen lets on.

Is this common to the GR series, digital cameras in general, or something else?
