Living mostly on Social Security in the US.
Though Social Security was designed to provide a safety net of about 40% of a retiree's customary income needs, there are millions of people for whom SS is at least 75% of their income. I'm not talking about finance advisers who keep telling people they need a million and a half in retirement funds; I'm talking about reality for a lot of people.
But that isn't necessarily an untenable situation, and this is what I want to hear about. Certain things are still easily affordable; other's are harder or impossible to afford. There are lots of simple pleasures that come to the front. There are patterns and practices of everyday life that make Social Security enough. So let's talk about that. Ideally, I'd like to hear from people who are living that reality.
