Smart Phone required to dine in
I have seen a lot of feedback recently regarding QR code menus and ordering at restaurants, all are valid points on both sides, but something has been tickling at the back of my mind that I haven’t seen mentioned.
As a restaurant owner or a customer, do you believe it’s okay to tell a customer or anyone that in order to be a customer you must own a smartphone/device?
There are a myriad of individuals who don’t own smartphones, be they elderly or an individual who is in the dumb phone group. As well as those who are concerned about malware being potentially installed on their devices should someone replace the QR code with malicious intent. as a venue you only have qr menus and qr payments, do you just tell the customer, I’m sorry but we don’t serve those without smartphones?
