Help troubleshooting low DL speed

Hi everyone,

Noticed yesterday (after a long, long time with no problems) that my torrent DL speed appears to be throttled (from typically 11-12 MiB/s to around 7-10 KiB/s).

I have not noticed any decrease in speed with anything else (streaming, serving web pages, direct file DLs).

It is unlikely to be the ISP, as they're a smaller reseller that has historically been hands-off, and has said that they can't throttle that kind of traffic without being open about it.

Since I noticed the issue I have:

  • fully upgraded the client to 5.0.3 (from 4.something)

  • restarted my computer

What I'm looking for now is some trouble-shooting steps to take to see if I can fix the issue some other way.

EDIT: I downgraded to 5.0.2, and no change. Then I downloaded Deluge, and tried a new file. No slow-down at all. So, qBittorrent issue, regardless of version? Could there be a setting I need to change?

EDIT THE SECOND: I fixed my issue. I ended up copying C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\qBittorrent to my desktop (thanks to this comment on a 3 year old post--in order to preserve my torrents and related data). I then uninstalled qbittorrent completely, and reinstalled the latest version (5.0.3 at time of writing). Finally, I copied the folder I had pasted to my desktop, pasted it back where it ought to be (making sure to approve overwrites requested by the system).

Working just as it should now, slowness is gone. Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment on this post.
