5mo puppy very clingy to me as primary caretaker

We have been crate training our 5mo mixed breed puppy since we adopted her about a month ago. She typically cries for a few minutes but then settles down. As I have been her primary caretaker it’s clear she’s become more and more clingy to me. I want to avoid separation anxiety and I feel like we are creeping towards it. Any advice for getting her to be more independent?

She does ok when I’m in a different part of the house but now if i leave I’ve come back to her crying in her crate and stressed. I have not left for more than an hour at a time. We’ve done crate games every night, meals in crate, tasty kongs, etc but it feels like she’s just playing along rather than actually “enjoying” her crate.
