What did you drive prior to owning a Prius?

I was driving a 2019 Subaru Forester, paying over $350 a month on trips to the gas station. Most trips were carting the kids back and forth to school, among other errands. I briefly had a 2019 used Nissan Leaf, which I loved...but the max 150 mile range limited a few of my regional trips and I just couldn't deal with the range anxiety. I've been enjoying my new-to-me 2021 Prime XLE. I'd love to hear a little about your switch to the Prius.
