Book recommendation?

I’m starting my christmas shopping early this year and im trying to get books for everyone. My boyfriend likes longer science fiction/ space opera books and series. His favorite author is Peter F Hamilton and he’s talked a bit about the commonwealth saga and the nights dawn trilogy. He also said he liked Micheal Chriton cuz of the footnotes. He also liked One Second After and the sequel by William Forstchen. Can anyone give me some recommendations for something similar?
