Undergrad Stats: Presidential honors scholar Member of pre health society Deans list every semester GPA 3.7 Science GPA 3.5

Hours EMT-B certified nationally and state. 4000 volunteer hours in a fire station. Lived there for a year while doing undergrad and ran calls overnight.

Direct patient contact hours: around 2000 split between 2 fire stations and working at a hospital as a critical care specialty EMT.

Roughly 1300 were volunteer from the fire stations and 700 were paid from the hospital.

Shadowing: 75 shadowing hours total split between 2 hospitals and about 7 PAs. Time was largely spent in the SICU and BICU but I also had time in the CVSICU, ED, and MICU. Lots of critical care focus because my job working as a critical care EMT at the hospital gave me an easy in.

5 LORs. 3 came from science based professors from undergrad, 1 came from a lieutenant at my fire station and another came from the director of PAs at the hospital I work at that overshadowed my experience with the 7 PAs.

I applied without a bachelors given that I was still in undergrad which caused some issue with select schools that required a bachelors degree upon applying, but I graduated a semester early and figured it would be ok to apply without one. It was not. Got instantly rejected from 2 schools because I didn’t have a bachelors.
