Why is anything Dental so expensive!?
I’m a single mom of 3. Working 2 jobs.. pretty much 7 days a week.. i take good care of my teeth and have a decent smile not perfect but not bad.. I had went to the dental school to get a filling.. to be able to afford it.. at the time I had no dental insurance and was in some horrible pain.. they drilled and drilled.. literally was there 8 hours.. they told me they put in a new type of filling that was going to prevent me having to get a root canal.. the filling came out 3 months later.. in the meantime I got approved for state insurance with some dental coverage. no other dentist would fix other dentist work said for insurance reasons I would have to go back to the place the filling came from.. I didn’t want to go back there.. eventually my tooth broke the other day. in half.. luckily it’s on the side and the inner half you can’t see was the part broken off.. so as of right now you can’t tell.. but at the emergency dental place they wanted to pull the not one but two teeth that were drilled way too much on to even hold that filling in.. they said they would eventually keep breaking to nothing..
this is so depressing. It would change my whole look and I would never want to smile again. They said I could do a partial but it would rock back and forth when I ate or talk because there wouldn’t be a tooth behind it to hold it! And implants are 5-6k a piece!!!! I would need 2! Of course insurance doesn’t cover any and barely covers any for a partial because is considered cosmetic! I am only 34!
I don’t know if there are any other options out there or if anyone has any ideas to help save what I have left I guess.
If dental procedures were more affordable I feel like people would get more dental work done! It’s already bad enough a big ol chunk comes out of our pay for taxes the more you work the more is taken out! How can anyone ever get ahead or even be able to pay 10-12k to fix their teeth if something like this comes up!??
