Janet Craig Compacta grown in water leaves turning brown.

Can somebody please help me manage this plant that is grown in water? There’s not a lot of info found on google in regards to up-keeping a plant in water only.

The tips of the leaves keep turning brown. I try to change the water once a week or every other week and I always use filtered water by the way.

A friend of mine told me because the water/plant is lacking nutrients, so I bought FloraGro 2-1-6. This didn’t seem to help at all and actually started to turn the leaves brown even quicker, which I think is because I put too much in. Anyways, I stopped and just started using regular water.

I’d like to keep this plant alive and to know how to keep it alive/healthy.
