Why does my basil keep falling on one side?

Hi, recently went on vacation and asked a friend to water the plant. It looks okay, but the stem keeps falling over on one side. The plant gets a ton of sunlight normally. For now, I’ve zip tied it to a stick in the middle, but is that okay to do? How do I make sure it doesn’t fall over like that? Also when do I prune the plant?
