What was stopping me from attacking with Pawmot ex Levin Strike on the bench?

There was a Raging Bolt ex, Latias ex, 2 Teal Mask Ogerpon ex and Radiant Greninja ex on the bench and an Alolan Exeggutor ex on the active spot.

I attacked with Levin Strike (220 dmg either on the active pokemon or on the bench), and something protected Ogerpon ex from my attack. What did I miss? None of their ability says that the bench cannot be attacked.
