Angle fangs question

Hi, I just wanted some stuff answered. I got my angle fangs pierced back on July for my birthday and had it up until today. I had to remove them because recently I would wake up and one side of my upper lip would be extremely swollen. I'm a little bit sad that I had to remove them, I'm not sure if it's something I'm allergic to the only allergy I have is Dust mites and that's it, am I doing something wrong to cause these swelling and was it the right decision of taking them out? This is the second time my lip has swelled like this and I had these for a couple months now. I simply want answers

But please! I just wanna know what I'm doing wrong. Is this allergic reaction to the jewelry? I'm using hypoallergenic Titanium if anyone is curious. I take them out every month to sanitize and clean them, but today was my final day if having them, my holes already closed. I wanna simply know if I made the right choice or not..
