Did you shake too?

I shake uncontrollably when I draw blood from the first patient of the day. I got my diploma for medical lab assistant two months ago after 8 months in class & 160 hours of hospital practicum, and still I shake really bad on my first draw of the day. I’m competent at this job, I don’t fear blood, and after the first draw of the day I am steady and skillful. Still, I shake for the first and I wonder if that’s a normal experience for rookie phlebotomists? If it happened for you, when did it stop?

I start my new job on Monday so I know my anxiety will be high as well as it being two months since I’ve drawn blood from anyone, I don’t look forward to embarrassing myself by shaking… does anyone have any advice?
